Some people think that only those who perform well in secondary school should be able to attend university. Others believe that anyone who really wants to attend university should have that opportunity. Which view do you agree with

Task2

Listening:agree

Task4

Listening:

Advantage 1:

Advantage 2:

主题:space-based or earth-based solar panels, 哪种更好

阅读分论点一:capture more energy,因为没有clouds block the sun’s rays

阅读分论点二:protected from impacts of high-speed meteoroids

阅读分论点三:better for the environment,不会disturb natural ecosystems

听力分论点一:parts of a space panel 可能会malfunction,这就意味着需要send a repair team into space,会很贵,加上在维修期间设备并不会collect energy,那么总能量不一定会更多

听力分论点三:space-based solar panels还是有可能对环境有害,captured energy would be sent back to earth as powerful beams,而这些光束会damage ozone layer,最终对生物产生影响,experience of negative health effects, reduction in the crop yield,这些危害可能比earth-based panels带来的还要大

Dr. Gupta

This week, we'll be discussing ways in which schools can help expose their students (aged 5-18) to learning experiences beyond the classroom. Let's begin by discussing one popular idea that some schools are considering--offering outdoor classes once a month. On the day of outdoor classes, students will be transported to local parks or nature preserves, and teachers can help students explore nature and learn about the environment. Do you think this is a good idea? Why or why not?

Kelly

Having outdoor classes once a month seems like an exciting way of providing students with interesting hands-on experiences. However, I don't think these classes would be a worthwhile use of instructional time and of school resources. These classes could put substantial pressure on schools' financial resources and on teachers, who may have to redesign their lesson plans.

Paul

Outdoor classes can increase students' motivation for learning about inter-connectedness in the natural world. These classes could be great opportunities to teach students about dire environmental problems, such as pollution, and ways of addressing these problems. It will deepen their understanding beyond what books could do and would be time well spent.

1.experiences beyond the classroom

2.outdoor classes—local parks and nature preserves

3.help explore nature and learn about the environment

基于审题要点回答问题:is it a good idea/worthwhile activity

1.同意Paul,hands-on experience can help students better understand the situations of endangered animals, and thus take actions to protect them,细节部分需要在Paul的基础上进行拓展

2.not a good idea,

3.worthwhile, arouse students’ learning interest in biology or projects related to the environment
